Sometimes a friend's question makes too much sense to ignore.
I read with fascination the story of why Stanley Druckenmiller, one of the most successful hedge fund managers of all time, suddenly gave it up and retired.
Apparently a friend invited him to play in a golf tournament in Scotland, and he begged off, saying he was too busy at work. The friend replied "Are you crazy? You've been doing this for 30 years. You are a billionaire. You can't take a couple of days off to play golf?"
That did it.
